India never really got its arcade era.
We grew up on consoles and PCs. We had Contra marathons on rented NES knock-offs, GTA all-nighters at the cyber cafe, and cricket on every PlayStation in the neighbourhood. But the arcade — the dim-lit, neon-soaked, coin-op cathedral of gaming — somehow skipped us.
The closest most of us got was a claw machine at a mall, a wobbly bike simulator at a fun-fair, or the light-gun shooter tucked behind the bowling alley. The real thing — a proper Tekken cabinet with two stools pulled up and a queue of quarters stacked on the bezel — was always somewhere else.
At LevelComplete, we're building the cabinets we always wished were parked around the corner from home. The kind that turned strangers into rivals and rivals into friends. The kind you'd skip lunch money for, just to see your initials sitting at the top of the high-score table.
